It seems as if every time conservative commentator and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza comes out with a new movie that busts the Democrats, or the media, or any other left-wing entity at whatever their latest scam on the American people is, it eventually is proven true. While that same cabal of Democrats and the media, and even some conservatives still refuse to admit to election fraud on a massive scale in 2020, even though at this point, it is obvious, they can never quite bring themselves to admit they’re busted. Enter Dinesh D’Souza to do it for them in “2000 Mules.” His latest movie, “Police State,” is no exception. D’Souza teams up with fellow conservative commentator Dan Bongino, who has extensive law enforcement experience as a former NYPD officer, and Secret Service agent. D’Souza asks Bongino the million-dollar question, “Is America becoming a police state?” This movie will more than answer that question.
The movie explores the beginnings of what could be today’s American police state. Going back to 1992, and Ruby Ridge and 1993 with Waco and the Branch Davidians. Neither Randy Weaver nor David Koresh were saints. But these were both fairly grand operations carried out by the FBI. After those two high-profile cases, the FBI went back to what they were good at, flying under the radar to catch the bad guys. But along came the terrorist attacks on 9/11. That changed everything. Soon after, in an effort to deter more terrorist attacks, things like the Patriot Act were introduced. The Patriot Act essentially gave the FBI carte blanche to do whatever it wanted, to whomever it wanted.
Americans for generations have witnessed overt police states in places like the old Soviet Union, China, Iran, and North Korea. At first, America may have been much more covert, and stealthy in its police state activities. But along came Barack Obama, and all bets were off. Obama immediately put the FBI to work weeding out the people and groups he felt were a threat to him. Conservative groups like the TEA Party, and True the Vote, groups that openly opposed the federal government. Not only were they surveilled by the FBI, but they were also audited. Seems like Democrats sure know how to put the federal government to work specifically for them.
D’Souza and others explain the panic among the dark unelected forces in Washington D.C. when Donald Trump was elected. He was an outsider, not conditioned after decades in Washington to know how things “worked.” Even scarier, he did not need anyone else’s money, which meant he could not be controlled. We know the rest of that story. Four years of Russia collusion fiction, impeachment, and anything else they thought might stick. They knew who and what he was talking about when he talked about “draining the swamp.” He could not be allowed to succeed, because that meant that Americans might just think they actually had a say in how government is run. So, Democrats, the media, big tech, and others, set out to politically dispatch with Donald Trump.
There is perhaps, no bigger setup of a sitting American President, and his supporters than January 6, 2021. Usually in Washington, it is crowds of leftists coming together to complain about something. This time, it was conservative Americans were gathering to voice their opposition to certifying an election they knew wasn’t right. That could not be tolerated, so a plan was in place to make sure that the gathering was “taken care of.” And to make sure it never happens again; people have been made examples of by the federal government. Right now, today, there are political prisoners in jail in America.
In Joe Biden’s America, the FBI and the DOJ operate as one not-so-secret government police force. If you were anywhere near Washington on January 6, they know who you are. If you are a Christian conservative, if you are a pro-lifer, if you have attended a school board meeting to voice opposition to Drag Queen story hour, or your child being exposed to pornography, they know who you are. And most definitely, if you are active in Republican politics, they know who you are. The personal stories in “Police State” are truly heart-wrenching. Not only because of the details, but because how, in a land built on freedom, has this been allowed to happen? A man from New York was overheard telling someone he was in Washington on Jan. 6, but nowhere near the Capitol. His neighbor promptly turned him in to the FBI. His apartment is ransacked, he is perp-walked out the door, he suffers a stroke because of the stress of it all, and his neighbors now think he is a domestic terrorist. A man who was at the Capitol, but did no damage, or anything illegal, is picked up by the FBI, and made to plead guilty to misdemeanors, but prosecutors decide they might want to add a terrorism enhancement to his charges. The thought of years in prison was too much. He hung himself in his garage. He was 37 years old. Moms who attended school board meetings because they wanted a say in what their kids were taught, got their front doors knocked down, and their private papers rifled through.
This movie not only terrified me but made me mad as hell. This is not Russia or China, this is America! This is not supposed to happen here! This movie is a very vocal warning, that elections have dire consequences, and Americans had better wake up and start paying attention to whom they elect. Republicans are not perfect, but this is what the Democrat Party is okay with, advocates for, and if at all possible, will absolutely implement more of if given the chance. The Constitution is not a guidepost, but an obstacle for them. It will be up to freedom-loving Americans, to make sure it does not become a distant memory.
