Some things you just assume are going to happen. Christmas is coming on Dec. 25; Democrats will cheat in some fashion during the 2024 Presidential election, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will show up to assist Hurricane Helene victims. The first two will, of course, happen, but the last one doesn’t seem to be materializing in any sort of way. People who have lost everything they own, some of them living out of their cars wearing the same clothes they were when they evacuated their homes, then watched them float down a river when asked if they have seen anyone from the federal government in their area say no. The Biden-Harris administration have now pulled the same abandonment stunt they did in Afghanistan on Americans right in their own backyards. I have had a theory as to why these forgotten folks have not gotten the help they so desperately need. Now, we may have a hint that I was right.
True to the Democrat Party that runs them, it seems FEMA has become extremely fond of dividing Americans into groups. But wait a minute, you might say, when such a catastrophe as a hurricane happens, shouldn’t an agency dedicated to helping people come into the area and determine who needs what first simply based on need? Not so fast. As with all things Democrat, FEMA has been…well…tweaking the way they do things in a disaster. FEMA has decided that diversity, equity, and inclusion, yes, that old DEI, never takes a holiday, even when disaster strikes. Proof of this is in the bits and pieces of training sessions and policy discussions that have found their way to social media. It’s not pretty.
We already know, thanks to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas informing us, that FEMA is broke and that the reason they are broke is because they have spent their funds on illegal aliens. But it gets worse. During one such training session of a specialized group of FEMA employees called the “Pride Federal Employee Resource Group,” the group’s Director of Education/Training, Reilly Hirst, talks about the agency initiating conversations with “migrant trans women.” The reason for those conversations was so FEMA could be assured that the trans migrant women trusted the shelters that were being provided for them, that they would not be misgendered, and that they would have access to the restrooms and bedrooms of their choice. Does it get better, you ask? Infinitely better.
Another Zoom meeting snippet is from a disaster preparedness meeting. Sounds timely, right, not so fast. The leader of the meeting states, “We should focus our efforts on LGBTQIA people…they struggled before the storm.” Another meeting participant then says the quiet part out loud, “FEMA relief is no longer about getting the greatest good for the greatest amount of people…It’s about disaster equity.” Wait what? What in the actual fresh hell is disaster equity?! Let’s go a bit further back to 2023. In September of 2023, FEMA signed a pledge with the NAACP, commonly known to Rush Limbaugh devotees as the “NAALCP, the National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People,” to “instill equity in disaster relief.” Still not sure what disaster equity is, Kamala Harris can explain it perfectly. In 2022, Harris explained that “it is our lowest income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions and impacted by issues that are not of their own making…And so, we have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity; understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity. Understanding not everyone starts out in the same place and, if we want people to be in an equal place, sometimes we have to take into account those disparities.”
So, any word salads aside, is Kamala Harris saying what we think she is saying? Is the sitting Vice President of the United States telling us that disaster relief should be handed out based on race and ethnicity?! That is exactly what she is saying. Let’s take a closer look at the situation. In North Carolina, some of the hardest hit areas are in Asheville and surrounding areas. Asheville is a blue dot in a red area. The town of Chimney Rock, roughly 20 miles outside of Asheville, has been demolished. A quick look at the 2020 census tells us that Chimney Rock is a predominantly white area. A further review tells us that also in 2020, the good people of Chimney Rock, albeit by a narrow margin, voted for Donald Trump in 2020. All of this doesn’t seem to say that these folks, no matter how in need they are, get to jump to the head of the DEI line.
At the time of the agreement signed between FEMA and the NAACP, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell put out a memo that stated that the agency would “instill equity as a foundation of emergency management.” Do we have absolute proof that this is what is going on, no. But let’s face it: Democrats do not have a good track record when it comes to just seeing people as Americans. They can’t help themselves when it comes to dividing people into groups and declaring certain people in those groups “victims,” then deciding that the “victims” get help first, not the people stranded with no food and water because…equity. Fortunately, most Americans don’t think this way. It’s a sick and twisted thing to get your head around.
Donald Trump said it best recently when he visited North Carolina to see the devastation. He was asked about the election and votes. He said, “I’m not thinking about votes, I’m thinking about lives.” What a concept.
