Hey Democrats! Here is the Mugshot You Wanted!
We all remember it happening to us at least once when we were kids. Christmas morning finally arrives. You tear into the vast assortment that the big guy, no not Joe Biden, the other big guy, left behind. And there it is, the something that you have had your 10-year-old eye on since summer. You take a minute to admire it. Yes, it is as glorious as you thought it would be. But then something happens. It might take a week, or a few days, or sometimes even just a few hours. But suddenly, the thing that life was just not complete without, has lost its shine and luster. Democrats and the left are experiencing that same feeling right now. The one thing they have dreamed about, longed for, and worked so hard to achieve is finally reality. Since June of 2015, they have fantasized about the mug shot of former President Donald Trump. And last week, Fulton County Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis made it happen. It was supposed to be such a magnificent day for Democrats. But something happened. Something is just not right.
What is not right can be easily explained by the fact that once again, the great Rush Limbaugh was right. How he must be puffing away on a cigar and chuckling to himself now. Rush always reminded us not to panic. Whatever stupidity Democrats were jumping into headfirst, they would most certainly overshoot the target, resulting in disastrous results, at least for them. And it has like clockwork, happened again. The golden goose that was to be Donald Trump’s mugshot for Democrats, has in fact, become said golden goose for Trump himself and conservatives, and left Democrats with a turkey.
It really was not rocket science. Since Trump was first indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on what amounts to a clerical error, Trump’s poll numbers go up with each indictment. But Democrats have insisted on testing the hypothesis that is the definition of insanity, continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results. It didn’t work for them the first three times, but this time, they were sure this was it; this time, Trump, and his poll numbers were going down. Except that is not what happened.
What happened was yet another episode of Trump as Bugs Bunny, patiently waiting, while Democrats, a.k.a., Wile E. Coyote, accepted and opened, yet another package from the Acme Dynamite company. As many predicted, it all blew up in their face in a big way. Trump used it as his triumphant return to X, formerly Twitter. Trump posted the mug shot with the caption, “ELECTION INTERFERENCE NEVER SURRENDER! DONALDJTRUMP.COM. Within 24 hours, the mugshot had 200 million views. And while Democrats may not be raising money for Joe Biden, their one and only wish has done wonders for the Trump campaign, and the numbers are pretty impressive. Over the past three weeks, the Trump campaign has reported taking in roughly $20 million. Of that, $7.1 million came in on Thursday after the mugshot was released. Friday was the highest grossing day of the campaign thus far, raking in $4.18 million.
Alina Habba is an attorney and legal spokesman for Donald Trump. On Saturday, she felt compelled to thank Fani Willis saying, “Thank you Fani. They didn’t need the mugshot. It was, I guess to her, probably a trophy, but thank you because now the trophy actually became ours.” Habba also called it “a power play that got reversed on her (Willis).” Alina Habba also pointed out two very glaring facts. The American people are not stupid, and “the more Democrats try to take him down,” the more “it emboldens and strengthens his base.” What also happened, was merchandise, and lots of it. Within hours, if you were looking for a Trump mugshot T-shirt, coffee mug, beer koozie, or just about anything else, you could find it. Capitalism is a beautiful thing.
How did Democrats not see the merch hurricane gearing up? Is Trump Derangement Syndrome so blinding that you can’t see that a mugshot will inevitably be the gift that keeps on giving? The reaction to the mugshot circus by NPR was typical of left-wing mainstream media. They opined about the fact that, “Mugshots are usually harmful. For Trump and his supporters, it’s a badge of honor.” What did they think was going to happen? What they thought, was what they always think. This is it. This is the thing that will finally separate Trump from his supporters. And it never is.
If they had any sense, any Democrat that sees that mugshot would be scared out of their shoes by the expression on Donald Trump’s face in that mugshot. It is not the scowl of a guilty man. It is the look of resolution and determination. It is the look that says that everything Donald Trump has told us about Democrats and the deep state is absolutely true, especially the part about coming after the American people. They know that Trump knows who they are, and what they are. They know that if he is reelected, there is going to be retribution upon them in a way this country has never seen. Perhaps the ones with a few brain cells to rub together, realize what they have unleashed. But they are few and will be ignored. Democrats, the deep state, the ruling class, whatever you want to call them, know they are fighting for their lives. The existence of America will come down to who wins in 2024.
