Is Joe Biden Becoming a Liability for Democrats in 2024?
The Democrat Party has always had an uncanny ability to be able to figure out who can stay in the party, and who has got to go. Bill Clinton, for all his foibles, was a master politician, and the Democrats knew it. So, when it came time to circle the wagons over his various peccadillos, that is just what they did. When North Carolina Senator and one time Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards was discovered having had an extra marital affair with a campaign aide that resulted in the birth of a child, that took place while his wife battled recurring breast cancer, well maybe not today, but back in 2007, that was too much even for Democrats, and John Edwards had to go. Back in the day, it didn’t take much for Democrats to look for greener pastures in their candidates. All Howard Dean did was scream in an attempt to rally his supporters after a third-place finish in the 2004 Iowa Caucuses. That was the end of the road for Dean.
Today however, Democrats have a much stickier situation to deal with. It involves an incumbent president with dementia and his white trash son, a hugely unpopular, and astoundingly unqualified black female Vice President who, if passed over for anything, will draw the wrath of a large portion of Democrats’ most reliable voting bloc, black women, and an ambitious governor who is unofficially measuring the drapes in the White House. And in a tell-tale sign that the end might be near for Joe Biden, the mainstream media seems to be moving in for the political kill.
Even before Joe Biden made his official announcement in April, there were rumblings, even from Democrats, that at 80 years old, Joe Biden was too old to be running for a second term, and there have been even before then, serious questions about his mental capacity. His cognitive capabilities, or the lack of them, seem to be getting worse, and are on full display on the world stage for both friends and foes to see. This week, during a visit to the U.K. and a meeting with King Charles, prior to a NATO summit meeting in Lithuania, it appeared that no one told the King he would almost literally be leading around a weak feeble American President by the hand, telling him where to stand and where to go. Once he got to Lithuania, it didn’t get much better, and Joe was again led around by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda. Biden also skipped the dinner on the first day of the summit. The entire world now knows what Joe Biden’s mental state really is.
But there is more. In a brutal report from Axios, White House staffers tell stories of Joe Biden losing his temper and flying off the handle at the nearest aide. They tell of using the buddy system when entering the Oval Office, perhaps thinking there is safety in numbers. Several officials say no one is safe from Biden’s profanity laced tirades. Incidentally, this is also a symptom of dementia. But one of the biggest reasons Democrats may now be viewing Joe Biden as a one big liability, is Hunter Biden.
Let’s review. Hunter’s laptop, which has been confirmed time and again as being real, is chock full of pictures of Hunter smoking crack, cavorting with hookers, and reports are, things much worse than a little blow and some working girls. Hunter has a four-year old daughter living in Arkansas with her mother, who Hunter obviously had some sort of relationship with long enough to conceive a child. After he denied being the child’s father, a DNA test proved otherwise, and Hunter was forced to cough up child support. Hunter then proceeded to plead poverty and unable to pay said child support. But wait, where did all that money from the Chinese, the Russians, the Ukrainians, Burisma, and anywhere else Hunter had sketchy business deals brewing go? Sorry Judge, can’t pay child support. My cash is all tied up in shell companies so no one will know how corrupt my family, including my old man is. Congress is in the middle of tallying that haul of cash up. Then, there is the fact that Joe and Jill Biden insist they have six grandchildren. They do not and will not acknowledge little Navy Roberts in Arkansas. The dog gets a stocking hung on the White House fireplace at Christmas time, but not Navy. In a surprising act of, well sort of, journalism, but definite outrage and disgust, even Maureen Dowd at the New York Times was aghast and wrote a pretty brutal piece entitled, “It’s Seven Grandkids Mr. President.” When you have lost the New York Times, it’s bad.
But Hunter may have Joe in a precarious position. Lately, Hunter seems to have been spending an awful lot of time at the White House. There were reports that he was living there so he could escape being served for child support for a child neither he, his father or stepmother could pick out of a crowd. But that has not been substantiated. Hunter has also accompanied Joe and Jill to Camp David and to Delaware. Joe Biden has been in politics a long time. Is keeping Hunter close by a strategy? With or without the infamous laptop, Hunter knows where all the financial bodies are buried. If the stuff hits the fan, is Hunter willing to throw his family under the bus to avoid prosecution or even jail time? Hunter Biden is a man with no qualms about pretending his own child doesn’t exist. It really doesn’t seem like that far of a stretch.
Because of Hunter, Joe Biden’s family man persona is evaporating, and he might be beginning to be seen for who he really is, an evil nasty old jerk. But Hunter knows the family secrets, and it is probably best not to make him angry. It has been said recently by several pundits, that because Robert Kennedy Jr. is doing so well in the polls that Joe Biden and the Democrats may have a Robert Kennedy problem. But they may want to look a bit closer. What they really have, is a Joe and Hunter Biden problem.
