Random Thoughts

Well, there is a lot going on. Some political and some cultural. And since I couldn’t make up my mind what I wanted to talk about this week, I decided to talk about all of it, or maybe, some of it at least. Any way you look at it, though, what I want to talk about are things we are facing that are monsters the Democrat party and the left have created. It should be crystal clear to the entire nation at this point that we have them to thank for all of it. They are literally cutting the 2026 campaign ads for Republicans.

First off, the ongoing riots, let’s call them what they are, in Los Angeles over ICE agents arresting illegal immigrants. At least that is what it appears to be on the surface. Over the last several days, things have gotten extremely dangerous for law enforcement. But let’s also be clear, this is far from organic. It did not just spring up one morning as an idea of some purple-haired, nose-ring-wearing unemployed leftists. This is well-planned and well-orchestrated. But before we get into all of that, it’s very simple. If you are in the country illegally, it’s exactly that, illegal. If you are aiding and abetting illegal immigration, no matter who you are, you are breaking the law. And yes, the President, per the U.S. Constitution, has the right to federalize the National Guard. That means he has the authority to call them out. If the President deems the riots an insurrection, there’s a familiar word, he can call up the military. What Democrats and the left had better get through their heads is that the autopen is no longer in charge. President Donald Trump will restore law and order by any legal means necessary. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it illegal. Right now, we see Mexican flags being waved. It will not be long before Palestinian flags are waving about, if they aren’t already. When I say this has been being planned, I mean it has been being planned since January 20, 2025, if not before.

Democrats and the left still cannot believe that everything they have thrown at Trump since the summer of 2015 has not worked, but there he is, back in the White House, doing what the American people elected him to do. It has put a rage in them like no other. Surely, there can’t be anyone who didn’t think that the left would find something to take to the streets about this summer. The riot infrastructure was all ready to go, they just needed to know what to print on the signs. President Trump and his team are fully prepared to do what they need to do, and the left is having a hard time wrapping their pinheads around the fact that they do not have the power to stop him. As for the planning part, I want to link a piece from my Managing Editor at RedState.com, friend and colleague, Jen Van Laar. I will echo what she is saying: very simply, follow the money.

Second on the list today is the recent dust-up between Riley Gaines and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles. Completely out of the blue, Biles decided to lay into Gaines when Gaines posted on X about a girls’ softball team winning a championship. Just one problem, though, the starting pitcher was a boy, a boy who had thrown something like 35 shutout innings against some girls. Biles went on an unhinged tirade about supporting the trans community, and that apparently, she has no problem with biological boys competing with girls. Which is a bit odd, considering that in 2017, Biles also posted on X, something to the effect that if she had had to compete with men, they would have won all the gold medals. Really! Really Simone? Now, why would that be a problem? Just so we are all on the same page, competing with men would have been a problem for you when you were competing, but now that you are all but retired, you are okay with it?

Simone Biles has joined the club of women who have retired from their sport and now see nothing wrong with men competing in women’s sports. Don’t know if they have a name for their club, but a perfect one would be hypocrites. I guess their motto is, “I got mine, who cares if you get yours.” There are millions of young girls in this country who look up to Simone Biles. They have watched her on TV since they were old enough to comprehend what she did. They were mesmerized and dazzled by her talent and skill. It has made them want to do what she did and be as good as she is. How very sad that, because Simone Biles apparently does not understand that the internet is forever, not only has she destroyed a legacy that only other Olympic gymnasts who know how incredibly hard she worked to achieve, but she has also just pulled the rug out from under all those millions of girls. Girls who don’t want to have to compete with boys, or shower or change in front of boys, to have the same shot at their dream that Simone Biles had to achieve hers. Thanks a lot, Simone, some role model you turned out to be.

Simone Biles has since apologized for her unhinged tweets, but so far, most people are not buying it. It sounds exactly like her publicist fed the whole mess into some artificial intelligence engine, and that is what churned out. No human being, at least a normal one, uses phrases like “competitive equity.” That’s what sports are: competing with people who are like you, and the best person wins.

It is pretty likely that Simone Biles still has not figured out that the internet is forever, and, at least in California, anti-ICE protests may just be too.
