At the time of America’s founding, the idea of a self-governing people was unheard of. And when America beat back the most powerful military in the world at the time to gain her independence, the rest of the world no doubt looked sideways at the new nation, fully expecting it to fail. America has most certainly had its ups and downs. She is certainly not a perfect nation because she is inhabited by imperfect human beings. But there is no other nation in world history, that has more influence over the course of world history than the United States. Over the course of the last several years, many Americans have flown the American flag upside down, as a symbol of a nation in distress. Whether their cause really meant distress for America can be debated, but currently, our nation, and the very existence of our Republic as she exists, is in more peril than sadly, most Americans realize.
As President Joe Biden came into office, there were many Americans, who believed that there was something not right about the 2020 presidential election. The COVID-19 pandemic had turned it, like a lot of other aspects of American life upside down. But when a fairly large number of Americans think their election was somehow tampered with, there is your first problem. Joe Biden’s inaugural speech was full of platitudes and cliches about bringing the country and her citizens together. He wanted to be a uniter of Americans, regardless of their political stripes or anything else. Joe Biden was going to restore “normalcy,” to the country, as if somehow Donald Trump had taken that away. But as we have quickly learned, Donald Trump was not the person who stole any normalcy from America. As Joe Biden’s presidency has progressed, Americans have figured out that what the media likes to refer to as, “the big lie,” a.k.a., former President Donald Trump talking about a rigged election, is really Joe Biden’s entire presidency.
Last week, Donald Trump, a former President again running to return to the presidency, and currently Joe Biden’s chief political rival, was indicted on several charges, including mishandling of classified documents, violating the Presidential Records and the Espionage Acts. If Joe Biden’s Justice Department gets its way, Donald Trump, at 77 years old, could die in prison. So much for being a “uniter.” Some of us knew better. Joe Biden is one hot mess of a human being. He has lied about just about every aspect of his life, and even the lives of his family. He lied about his first wife being killed by a drunk driver. She was not. He lied about graduating in the top half of his class in law school. He graduated 76th out of 85. He said he had three degrees. He has one. He had to suspend his first presidential campaign in 1988 because he plagiarized a speech, almost word for word from British politician Neil Kinnock. See a pattern emerging? And all this before he became President. Joe Biden’s track record should have been, not only a warning, but seen as almost a blueprint, of what kind of president he would be. From 40-year high inflation to the disaster at the border, to the disaster in Afghanistan, the Biden presidency has been one Chevy Chase pratfall after another.
But the distress America is now in goes well beyond the everyday buffoonery of Joe Biden and his equally incompetent administration. It is about Joe Biden, or whoever is signing off on things for him, giving the green light to a rogue Department of Justice, to go after the predecessor and possible opponent, of a sitting president. It is about going after a former President for things others before him have done. It is about the fact that there is no pandemic to fall back on in 2024 (yet), and the sitting president is mentally incapable of participating in a debate with his opponent so the American people can make an informed choice. For those who wondered how the Democrat party would engage in election interference in 2024, here is your answer. Republicans have been saying for quite a while now, and Democrats have put it on full display, that there are two systems of justice in America, and it all depends on what letter you put after your name. But it even goes deeper than elected Democrats. It is an entire network of unelected nameless, faceless, individuals, who don’t like Donald Trump, and his policies, but more than that, don’t like the people, the Americans, that support him. It was former FBI agent Peter Strzok, in a text message to his mistress, who said the quiet part out loud, about how entrenched bureaucrats feel about Trump supporters. “Just went to a southern Virginia Walmart. I could smell the Trump support.” Get it? You are too stupid to pick the “correct” presidential candidate.
When one political party can prosecute those of another, and it doesn’t work both ways, our Republic is in dire straits. You can destroy a country in all the ways the Democrats and the Biden administration have done, but when you set out to destroy the very founding ideals and principles the nation was founded on, like equal justice under the law, and you really don’t try to cover that up, that’s when things begin to get truly scary. We can hope that it backfires in ways like, motivating Americans to do what they feel called to do to save the Republic. Get involved locally, run for office on the state or local level. That is where it begins, only there is where we might begin to pull back and have a chance of winning this life-or-death game of tug-o-war for our nation. On his show on Sunday night, Fox News host Mark Levin concluded his monologue this way, “What this prosecutor, this Justice Department, this Attorney General, and yes, this President, President Biden have done, is they have destroyed the country. And I don’t know that we can ever get it back.” When Mark Levin says he doesn’t know if we can get the country back, now I’m scared.
