Who is Running the Country?

     It almost seems like a Tom Clancy novel. An incapacitated President remains in power while the Vice President is campaigning. On the surface, everything appears to be running as usual, but there is no way that can be. Someone or a group of individuals must be calling the shots and making the trains run on time. Who is it? Therein lies the plot. Who is it, and how do we find out, or do we? Sadly, it is not a political thriller novel; it is happening right now, today, in America. We have come to the place where this is actually a serious question. Who is running the country?

     In case there is someone out there who has been living under a rock, here is where we are at, roughly two months out from the election. Joe Biden, the man who was installed into office through massive fraud and a rigged, stolen election, has dementia and can no longer continue being the President of the United States, much less run for a second term in office. But that’s okay. Joe did what he was supposed to do, with the help of the Democrat/Washington D.C. machine, and “removed” Donald Trump from office. Mission accomplished. Here’s your gold watch, Joe. Go spend the rest of your days on the beach in Delaware. But wait, not so fast. There is a problem with that. Joe Biden is still President until noon on January 20, 2025. Here is what will happen. Joe will stick around Washington, and the White House will trot him out every now and then just to assure the American people he is still alive and kicking and to make people think he is still effectively running the country. Joe will make the required stumbling, bumbling, and completely incoherent speech when necessary and sniff a kid or two. But beyond that, Joe is done. From now until January 2025, he is quite literally phoning it in.

     Then there is Vice President Kamala Harris. She checked off all the DEI boxes for Joe and the Democrats. But while she might be able to handle campaigning for the job, the fact that she is wildly incapable of ever running the country is on full display. She was also installed by the Democrat machine to take Joe’s place. She is a puppet, being manipulated by the machine puppeteers, and will say anything that is loaded into the teleprompter. Her positions on the issues are all over the place and make John Kerry, who voted for the 87 billion before he voted against it, look reliably stable. Kamala Harris is essentially Ron Burgundy in a pantsuit. Whether she can even handle running for the job of President is in question. She is terrified of the press, even friendly press. So, there is virtually no way that any foreign adversary would be in the least bit intimidated by her.

     So, who might be acting as the Wizard behind the curtain? Well, a few ideas come to mind. But the most obvious, former President Barack Obama. The reason, something he said in a 2015 interview with Late Show host Stephen Colbert. Obama and Colbert were chatting about a hypothetical third term for Obama when 44 posited this tidbit, “I used to say if I can make an arrangement where I had a stand-in or front man or front woman, and they had an earpiece in, and I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the stuff, and I could sort of deliver the lines while someone was doing all the talking and ceremony. I’d be fine with that because I found the work fascinating.” Many people think that Obama could not be reelected in 2024 because he wouldn’t be left enough, but what if he was more left than he let on because he knew it would never fly? There is a reason people thought he was taking his agenda right out of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”

     If not Obama himself, what about his henchmen? Former Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice and former Biden chief of staff Ron Klain are still hanging around the Biden White House. Rice and Klain may have a vested interest in not just Obama’s legacy but Biden’s as well. Neither of them would really need Joe to actually be in the White House. They know what needs to be signed; they can both probably sign Joe’s name better than he can at this point, and it is a good bet that they could keep things running so that no one would be the wiser.

    Then there is the now-infamous “deep state.” Well, just who is the deep state? That’s just it, no one knows. They are a large group of unelected, entrenched bureaucrats. They are spread out over hundreds of federal agencies in every capacity. They have been in Washington for decades over several administrations, both Democrat and Republican. Think “House of Cards” or Donald Sutherland’s “Mr. X” character in “JFK.” kind of stuff. Could they actually run the government? There are more than enough of them, and there are unwritten rules that they all instinctively know. Therefore, there is no paper or electronic trail. Other than Edith Wilson acting as President for her incapacitated husband, Woodrow Wilson, after he suffered a stroke, we are in uncharted waters as a nation. Everything is on the table.

     What if, God forbid, there would be a terrorist attack on America? Who is calling the shots? Who is in charge? Would we even know? Unfortunately, it’s not a novel; it’s all too real. If we can just make it to what will hopefully be Donald Trump’s inauguration day, we won’t have to see how this one ends.
