Welcome to the newest feature of Gumshoe Politics! Every week I will pose a question to you the reader, and let’s talk about it!
Question for this week: Most political experts believe that Republicans will take control of the House of Representatives in the midterm election in November but are up in the air regarding the Senate. Will Republicans take the House? Will they take both the House and the Senate? What do you think? Let’s talk!
I think that they will, but it may not be the overwhelming "red wave" that many GOP activists are predicting. Absent another "own goal" or two by the Democrats (which, given the current Biden-Harris administration and the current Democrat leadership in Congress, isn't out of the realm of possibility), it's going to be down to "get out the vote" efforts in the various swing districts and close Senate races.
The Republicans will overwhelming take back the house but it's up in the air if they can reclaim the Senate.
Let's stop being nice and storm the gates!
